I think blogging for a period of time (especially a formative one) makes a person sort of eternally obsessed with recording and organizing everything, so this is what I've mapped out for the coming of fall:
Clips (spoiler alerts! Not like PLOT HEAVY stuff necessarily, but if you haven't seen any of these movies don't let me rob you of experiencing these scenes in their full glory!):
One thing I forgot to write down was the shared Super 8 memory sequence in both Paris, Texas and Submarine. SO HEARTWRENCHING.
1. Opening - Cowboy 2. Strange Magic - ELO 3. Wild Heart - Stevie Nicks 4. Long Live - Taylor Swift 5. Everywhere - Fleetwood Mac 6. Love Me Like Music (I'll Be Your Song) - Heart 7. Marie - Jack Nitzsche 8. Pardon My Heart - Neil Young 9. Don't Let Me Down - Dillard & Clark 10. These Days - Nico 11. Wild Horses - Rolling Stones 12. Baby Just Break - King Tuff 13. Love is Strange - Mickey & Sylvia 14. Cancion Mixteca - Ry Cooder 15. A Blossom Fell - Nat King Cole 16. Crazy - Patsy Cline 17. Sometimes I Cry - unknown 18. Unknown - Yellow Balloon 19. Snow Queen of Texas - Mamas and the Papas 20. The Moonbeam Song - Harry Nilsson 21. Unknown - Saba Lou 22. Hiding Tonight - Alex Turner 23. Forget About - Sibylle Baier 24. Lady O - Judee Sill 25. The Weight - Jackie DeShannon 26. Crossroads - Robert Johnson 27. Rock and Roll - Velvet Underground 28. Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon - Urge Overkill 29. What's Important - Beat Happening
That's me right there, always organizing, always strategizing but never quite making it all happen as planned out. I'm in the process of learning to let things flow naturally and kind of happen by themselves. I might have to make a plan on how to do that, too. www.moiminnie.blogspot.com xx
Paris is such a beautiful film aesthetically. I love to print out pictures of it and hang them on the walls of my bedroom. Also omg wild heart. Stevie Nicks is such a dream queen
ahhhhh your inclusion of Stevie Nicks's amazing backstage singing of "wild heart" means that I MUST direct your attention to Toronto's own and very talented musician Gentleman Reg's recreation... it is totally beautiful and will make your heart sore. In the best way, I promise.
Here it is: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9CAi-5wGyI0
the worst thing is that I do organize things, and also try to make them look good on paper, but then, when I will not manage to do that or simply didn't even make and attempt to do that I'm so angry at pieces of paper! ugh, it's so frustrating, but still, I love to write my plans down and then draw some lovely things (like on yours) sorry for my babbling I also like your music list. Many of these songs are close to my heart xo
Tavi! I'm sooo glad you've seen and like Submarine! And Alex Turner's soundtrack! Please listen to some Arctic Monkeys if you haven't already, I think you'd like the 3rd and 4th albums best - Humbug (3rd) for autumn, Suck it and See (4th) for summer xxxxxx
Awesome post and great playlist! OH MY GOD STEVIE NICKS IS SO AMAZING! I have a notebook made out of 2 of her old records! Hope you have a great fall! ~maren~
This is beautiful. I have been feeling sad lately, and not quite able to cope with everything that has come so suddenly. But changing things and making them look a bit more like this, like some visually rich film or intricately detailed painting or old favourite CD, might just be a better way for me to cope with it.
Your organization/planning pages are so cool! I journal in much the same way, but I only write down what has happened, I'd never really thought of planning or organizing things in that way. I'll have to try!
THANK YOU I've been wondering what movie to watch all morning. Now I know (Pulp Fiction me thinks). I always want to watch a movie but never know what the hell is any good.
P.S your illustrations are serious eye candy (of the non-sexual attraction related sort... lol... haha...)
Sooo cool!! I love all the heart vibes! The band Heart is legit the best thing in the world <3 Great music too!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you've been posting again!!
Can't believe you're only 16 and have been blogging for four years already! You must have a lot of energy and talent! It is great to see a 16-year-old working so hard at such positive things. You should be a role model for younger kids!
To collect is to remember. Have you seen The Last Picture Show? I have a feeling you would like it and also feel your heart sting along to Cold Cold Heart x
I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE BLOGGING AGAIN! I was like, visiting your blog almost everyday ,waiting desperately for a new post and yay! I missed you. I really want to write a love letter to you cause I am quite in love. that sounds creepy. Okay, well. I made a zine for you. I pretty much like how it came out, and it's about you, your style, basically about how awesome you are. Seriously, you are my idol. You really changed my life (SERIOUSLY!) because 1. You and rookiemag.com made me so much more self-confident. That helped me through really tough times, you know, people bullying you and stuff. 2. You are SO unbelievably inspiring to me. I cannot tell how much. 3. By the way, I also discovered the blogging scene only with Style Rookie. 4. Oh, I am not done being creepy yet. I made a badge with a picture of you on it and I love to wear it. 5. I am done with being creepy now. thanks for listening.
omg, I get so excited when it gets to autumn! (well, fall) because everything happens & even though it gets colder, it's really fun and happy and a season that brings good vibes.. oh, I'm so excited!

wow, these convoluted associative flowcharts... i can't claim to be able to navigate through your mind now, but i know your future biographers will thank (and curse) you for them ^_____^ your tape actually made me wistful. not sure if i shall thank you for that. felt like this, so i had to "detox" myself with this here. best wishes for your fall as well.
