Rodarte for Target Giveaway

I would like to announce a Rodarte for Target giveaway! Party time!
Here's how it works:

1. Write in the comments what you're most excited about for the Rodarte for Target line. It could be a specific piece, or just something about the feel of the collection you like, or anything. I've made comments anonymous-inclusive so anyone can enter. Leave your email address in the comments too so we can get your mailing address if you win.

2. I will pick 40-45 winners (but don't try to make the answer suitable to my tastes or anything. That's no fun!) We will email the winners and the pieces will be sent out.

The giveaway item is this mustard lace cardigan I said I would wear every day if I could in the collaboration video.

It's also here:I haven't taken any pictures of myself in it but it's super soft and nice to stare at when you're bored during gym WHAT WHO SAID THEY ARE BORED DURING GYM NOT ME.

Now get cracking!

EDIT: I will stop taking entries at midnight Central Standard Time on Saturday, December 19th.

EDIT AGAIN: The contest has ended, we will be emailing the winners this week. Any new entries will be ignored. Thank you to everyone who participated!

EDIT AGAIN AGAIN: Please do not email me about winning. I am basing my choices off the comments alone, emails will be ignored.

Because of the new law, I am supposed to let you know that I receieved compensation and pieces from the Rodarte for Target collection for my collaboration with Target.

I so love the mustard lace cardigan. This is actually my first time visiting your blog (I'm new to fashion blogs in general), but I found you by googling that cardigan! I can't afford to buy it for myself (unless it makes it to the sale racks--doubtful) so I really hope I win.

Thanks, Tavi!

My favorite piece of the collection is the lace dress with the bows. The bows on each shoulder takes the dress to a completely different level, I find it so fascinating how one tiny detail can make the collection, for me at least :D

Well, I have it narrowed down to the gray leopard sequin dress and the black lace cardigan, both of which are pretty alarming given my age. But to be honest if I got picked, the exciting part would be getting SOMETHING FROM TAVI; everyone I know would be forced to hear the 30-second description of how brilliant and inspiring Tavi is (seeing as how fashion or familiarity with Rodarte isn't one of my town's strong points). But none of that in a creepy way of course.

Hey Fashion-savvy Tavi!

I am terribly excited for the Rodarte collection!!! When I first found out about the collaboration, I ran around my house in circles.

The piece I am most looking forward to is the lace cardigan. I love anything feminine and flirty. It's a great way to mix up a classic.

I can't wait to wear it everywhere!!!
Cho-cho-choose me! Make my dreams come true!

PS I am staying up all night waiting for the collection to come online. My poor puppy is going insane because he wants to be in bed already!

obviously the most important piece from Rodarte for target that I want to own, is the black sequin and collar bone print dress. That item needs to be on my body pronto during this unfavorable cold weather. End of story

i love this whole collection, really! i was trying to find a piece i was most excited about, but i honestly love everything! i've been obsessing over mustard color recently..i've bought mustard tights, mustard shoes, and a lot of mustard accessories, etc. so i hope i can add this to my collection!

that video was great. i'm completely jealous of your life! you're 13 and already so awesome! i wish i was that cool when i was 13. XD

The leopard-print mini dress in the Rodarte collection is drool-inducing. I want this piece because, due to college debt and being in family of lower class, this will probably be as close as I can get to owning Rodarte :(

I'm excited because this collection because it's the first Target GO Collection that I'm impressed with. I feel like many of the other Target GO collections were created quite half-heartedly on the designer's behalf. However, this time around, the line truly reflects the essence of Rodarte's design aesthetic in a way that I didn't think could for under $100.

I'm excited for the whole Rodarte for Target line because, honestly, they look like real quality pieces. I always get excited when designers I love do lower priced lines but almost every time the line doesn't even look like the designer cared. Rodarte for Target looks so much like the brand's high-priced collection themselves and you can tell they put in the time and effort into each piece. And since I can not afford the whole deal or actually see it myself (i'm from chicago as well, no one I know has ever heard of rodarte) it makes me more excited for the line to come out. Its so different than the other target lines and not something that you can find in every store. Rodarte as a whole is like that- their designs are so unique and distinct. Also, this sounds a little cheesy, but I think its cute that Rodarte is designed by sisters. I'm close with my own and if I had to design something with a partner of my choice I'd pick them ;)

today I tried on the sequence rip cage dress. I LOVED it, but all they had was an XS and an XL left. I needed a small. That dress rules and I love the whole line!

i'm excited about lace and colors.

i have a mildly 'safe' wardrobe, but i hope 2010 is a year for new fantastic wardrobe, this line will be of great help!

I would so wear the heck out of the black halter dress. I'm a teacher, and I think I could pull it off at school with opaque tights (likely brightly coloured ones), maybe layed with lace or fishnets over top. I have some interesting scale-esque ones that I used when I dressed up as a Wild Thing for Halloween. Either cobalt blue mary janes or my mint green kitten heels on my feet. I think it would end up as the sort of outfit that gets me compliments from my coworkers and from the second graders next door.

Why am I excited for Rodarte for Target?

Hmm..that's pretty hard, actually. There's a lot of things I love, and I'm excited for - the slip dress, the lace cardigan, denim jacket, lace print dress. The feel of the whole collection's pretty amazing, it's like a feminine feel with edge. And I'm going to take your word about the cardigan - it looks so soft and comfortable! I could go on, but I'll spare you the agony (so many comments, poor you!) by ending with saying that denim jacket looks amazing comfortable and the slip dress looks kind of like the one I was eyeing at Anthropologie a few weeks before except even better.

ok i dont have one specific favorite piece about this collection but that only means that i like more than one which is so much better! right?

ok lets see. what i like or am excited for. hmm i really think its the new feel/style it's bringing to target.

even though i think when somethings really good you can give it labels, i get this hard elegance vibe. you know like a "yea im cute in girly in my lace but i can still kick your butt; you know if you haven't noticed my leather gloves and doc martens" and whats better than making you looks decieving? nothing thats what.

...but thats another great thing, you dont have to wear these peices with leather gloves and doc martens. you can take elements of this collection and adapt it to suit your own personal style and in my opinion, i like it better when people can wear the same thing without looking the same. (but i do love lace)

every time i see ads of the looks in this collection the i want it. enough said. its great.

*p.s. srry about the long comment*

I absolutely love the Rodarte line for Target! I just got home from there I though the release was tomorrow but I called Target and they said it was in! The collection was so pretty. I bought my big sister the blk slip/lace dress w/bows on the shoulders for her B-day. I just wish they wouldn't have been sound out of the mustard yellow cardigan and lace tights...sad face.

I am definitely excited about that mustard cardigan, that's when I knew I had to run out and see the collection in person when it came out!!

Though really, I am excited that this is a line of beautiful and affordable pieces designed to actually be flattering on the body, unlike many of the pieces at Target which I find don't drape very well.

OH DEAR,

What am I most excited about...How about the mere lovely, fantastical, wonderful fact that Rodarte is doing a line for Target! This makes my penniless heart oh so happy. Rodarte is like a big collage of feathers and lace and bows and grandma sweaters put together and obviously I'm not the only one who appreciates them bringing their lovely clothes to a more accessible price. But if I must be specific I am IN LOVE with the pink tulle skirt. and the lace tights. and the black halter dress. You get the idea. ily Tavi! (:

I know that the contest is over. Just wanted to drop a line and say WHO HOO and congrats for this new collab line with Rodarte. I LOVE it. I myself got the black dress with the two bows, the mustard skirt and the black lace cardigan. Can't find the skeleton dress ANYWHERE!

Main reason I LOVE Rodarte = the unwielding commitment to look for intrigue and fascination in everything they do. From looking at stripped out copper wiring, hand-knitted stockings, tireless hand dyeing, and their passion is astoundingly beautiful pieces.

Tavi, your unwillingness to conform to the Aberzombies speaks volumes to the exploration of creativity that our young people need more of! Keep it true and keep it real.

I am so jealous you got to meet Kim Gordon. She touched my hand once at a concert, but I've never actually got to talk to her.

You are so inspirational. I wish you were my best friend.
