YES. I LOVE this holiday and I love candy and costumes and spooky. I was semi-creative like I used to be and took witchy pictures on Halloween but picnik is a slow butt so those are for later.
I'm supposed to be a creepy doll. A zombie? I DON'T KNOW, SOMETHING CREEPY. I just really wanted to do the eyelids thing.
The outfit is a green gingham dress and saddle shoes and a pink bow, which really isn't something I wouldn't not wear on a regular day. My classmates were sure to remind me of this.
"HEY, TAVI! HEY TAVI-*chuckle!*-HEY, OKAY. AHEMHEM. THAT. LOOKS. LIKE. WHAT. YOU. NORMALLY. WEAR!"The outfit is a green gingham dress and saddle shoes and a pink bow, which really isn't something I wouldn't not wear on a regular day. My classmates were sure to remind me of this.
Also in school we watched Rear Window, and it was really, really depressing how about half the guys in our grade went "OH YEAH!!" when she is aggressively forced onto the couch by her date (go to 6:20 here.) I really don't like most people.
But..anyway.
False eyelashes from Walgreens that say "Spyder Woman" on the package + Ella's makeup = oh I'm sorry little four-year-old dressed up as a fairy, DID I SCARE YOU? (I am awful.) Ella was a creepy mime, so she couldn't talk, and in order to freak people out I had to keep my eyes closed, so I couldn't see. Halloween is really all about making sacrifices and learning about what is most important.
We watched Rosemary's Baby, Beetlejuice and Harold and Maude, then we talked about how obscure and intellectual our tastes in movies - I mean ~FILM - are. Then we watched reruns of Proj and did jigsaw puzzles.
Andddd THIS was cracking me up. Go look. DO IT. (Monica is very funny.)
Happy late Halloween!

people at your school probably wear all abercrombie and have no style/taste (i grew up in libertyville, i know how rude people can be to those who are different)
your adorable! i love your style :o)

wow your eyelids look good
and you're right seeing and talking are definitely secondary to looking cool in terms of importance
kewpie+pierrot=tavi.
That's a good idea placing the eyelashes above the eye instead of the lash line so that the creepy eyes really pop and look more real. The rest of the makeup is great too, you really ended up looking pretty spooky!

Your makeup looks awesome! Your school mates are losers, really. Jealousy at your age is the worst... But I'm sure you hear that all the time.
Anyway, I was Edward Scissorhands - check out my costume I think you would like!!

Coincidence! I really don't like most people either.
The majority of the time people can't tell what I'm dressed up as for Halloween. My fault I guess. Always end up putting it together last minute.
Well done on the eyelids. By far the most important part of you costume :P

That costume is creeptacular. Also if you like creepy costumes you should check these out: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/terrifying-vintage-halloween-photos/
It makes me sad that kids tend to go for cute instead of FRIGGIN SCARY AS HELL these days.
I -almost- was a doll again. Unfortunately I couldn't find the right dress to wear and just made a quick cosplay the night before (because I'm crazy like that.)
Glad you had a spook-tacular Halloween, Tavi-chan. ^~^!!!!!
how did u manage to apply your make up while closing your eyes? haha
awesome outfit!

woah man, that's some frightening makeup! i like it.
and hey, thanks for sharing my blog link!!! it was super fun dressing up as you!

hate it when people laugh at that type of things - the guys in my grade does that too.. i need to restrain myself to keep myself from screaming outlloud.
My halloween costume wasn't far from what I normally wear either.. I was a rat, but my clothes where really similar to my everyday wear..
x
wow i luv it!
Stylishly creepy!
Yikes! You look seriously creepy. And I mean that in a good way :-D
Wow, that's creepy! Especially with that innocent outfit.
Oh my god!!! you're really terrific!! really a murder doll!!
I love love love your costume. It's the perfect mix of fashion and creepiness.
I'm doing a project on creepy old porcelain dolls and you really look like a particular one I love... This makes it all the more creepy.
I go to a gazillion dressup parties a year yet I never end up actually dressing up and all my friends dive in my closet and wear my daily wear. Sigh.
You look fab! Love the eyelashes! :D
SUPER creepy and fantastic. Well done.
love the eye makeup - you must have been blinking loads!

Love the make-up, that's a great costume! Also, those are some great flicks, Beetlejuice is one of my favorites!
haha. i saw and did the eyelid makeup before. but it was never as pretty as yours. i really like the combo of the pink cheeks and the pink ribbon. wirklich schön! and the rest of the costume is so reduced and brings it so much to the point at the same time. that's what i like best. thanks for that great foto! made my day kinda.
Very nice! Those eyelashes are so huge!
Wow! You scaring me.
Bloody hell Tavi you do look very creepy!! Thats cool they let you dress up and watch movies for class!
Hi! soory my english is bad (i'm french =D) You are crative, unique, eccentric: i love your style! I often go on your blog. in France, many magazines talk about you: the journalists say you're a true fashion phenomenon (is it correct?)
Byebye!
Rear Window is one of my favorite movies of all time! I love that the whole thing feels like it takes place in an oversized diorama. And your costume is fantastic, of course!
supppeeeerrr creative..
creepy doll??hahaha..I think u r more like a cute doll..
Brilliant!

I love your dress up !!You 'e
re so kind !

You are hysterical. And you're right. It is about making sacrifices. like when I went as 'oops, I crapped my pants' and realized I should have worn a sign that actually said, 'oops I crapped my pants' rather than let them believe I'd destroyed a pair of pants via refried black beans. can't win 'em all.
you looked awesome.

wow, GREAT job! Best makeup job ever.

holy crap i at first thought those were your open eyes. i was thinking 'woah how'd she do that?' but okay. ahum. like. best halloween outfit ever. i mean it's not overthetoplookiactcrazy like most people do, but it's amazingly subtle and still totally creepy.
Wow that is some awesome eye makeup skill there! also, adolescent boys are probably some of the stupidest, most annoying creatures on the planet. Your makeup was pretty creeps, but your outfit looked good. It was cute and creepy at the same time!
Wow-cool photos-the pumkins look incredible!
Crazy creepy doll!!!!!fantastic your outfit!Happy late Halloween!
Jaja!!! SOO CREEPY!!
HAHAHAH REAL CREEPY TAVI LOOOL.

I just love it so hard ahahahaha.. love the way you get that eyes! lovely
kisses from mexico
tavi, i wish i'd been half as cool as you when i was your age. you rule.
First one with a Jack Sparrow comment (loved his make-up too :] ). Real fun, and it's also great to freak people out. :p
That costume is fucking spectacular!!!! kudos
Tavi!!
You're brilliant. So I had decided to do a creepy porcelain doll for Halloween too, and I was quite shocked and pleased to see that you had done the same! The eye makeup is great, and I definitely agree that the sacrifice of sight is worth the beauty and creepiness of the costume. Indeed.
I encourage you to please check out the pictures that my friend took of my costume on my page.
http://hersweetdisposition.blogspot.com/2009/11/oh-my-gosh-its-been-forever.html
i tapped into my spyder woman self yesterday at walgreens as well. they are the perfect little doll/60s mod eyelashes.
you look fantasticccc in these photos. my margot-tenenbaum-when-she-was-doing-ballet-in-that-one-scene costume pales in comparison.
most people do fail. but how cool is it that you are allowed to watch rear window in class, even my last year of high school they wouldn't let us watch PG-13 without permission slips. just forget the creeps and asses. Btw, your costume was awesome!
you're so wise & sophisticated for your age. ;)
i love your makeup, i went as the queen of hearts this year and my bf as a zombie (he does prosthetic makeup for film). very creepy.
I love you!
Would you ever go to France?
And I love your hair, too. If you ever shave your head, send them to me by postal.
The eye make-up is so good! I may have to try that one next halloween.
Oh, and that link is hilarious, she did a great job as dressing as you!
-Olivia♥
ur eye make up is very breathtaking *-*
wow do you really look like a doll, but i also see how you look like a creepy zombie... come to my site and leave a comment, its lonely there. lol

I feel your pain re. the kids making dumb comments about your Halloween costume. I've spent the last few weeks with the dopey kids in my neighbourhood yelling "Hey! It's not Halloween for another three weeks/two weeks/four days/etc!" and I was pretty relieved when it finally came and went because that would be the end of that.
Then today some kid called out to me "Hey! Halloween was three days ago!"
Dang. I should have seen that coming.
You are my favorite!!
your costume is great. your classmates need to learn to respect your creativity.
Your makeup is suh-weeet! Hope you Halloween was epic.
glad you enjoy halloween as much as i do! i love your costume - who cares what you are!?!?! you look freakin cool!
haha...YOU'RE SUCH A SPECIAL GIRL TAVI! :) im loving your blog, ill follow you! :)

Love the costume!! My god, I hate 7th grade boys. (I remember them all too well, almost as if it was yesterday . . . it practically was). One hopes they'll grow out of it but as far as I know, they don't. Which is why I'm super sexist in favor of women.
cool..something like the Orphan :D
hey T, you were soo right, the comme des garçons awesome back detail is a hit..a.wang used it too, but I didn't like it :/
x
I love the costume. The creepy doll is simply stunning in a sick and twisted way. I love it! Oh my name is ella! trying to state the obvious.
Great costume Idea! did you had a friend that guide you, when you were walking around been creepy?
Ah! by the way, I seend you an E-mail with a drawing I made of you, inspired out of a photo from the POP magazine. Hope you like ; )
Hey,
<3 the Halloween creativity you've presented us with thus far :-) The image with the bats is indubitably awesome! So, is Jimmy Stewart's character a hero, or just a creepy voyeur?
Charming yet unnerving...the essence of a classic porcelian doll! Brava!
Love this look! I love how you didn't cop out and go as a 'sexy' doll. Where did you get those lashes from?
Te admiro mucho. Soy Argentina
Sos genial Saludos! ♥
Adela
wow!cute makeup(>v<)/!
I love your sense of style and adventure. I wish all my clients would have the same fearlessness in trying new things to wear as you do. Rock on!

just for fun..:)
god, you are great
Love it !
That is the coolest Halloween costume/ idea I have ever seen. "Harold and Maude" - LOL Guess that could be construed as a bit scary- great movie, though.
This is my absolute favorite blog. {I really hate the word "blog"}
We just watched Rear Window in my film class... it's painful to hear most people's thoughts and feelings on these good movies, er FILMS. A question often asked by my fellow students is, "why did he/she do that? He/she should have known that marriage was gonna be bad, so it's his/her fault..." Why? WHY? Because it's in the script you effing psych majors! Same thing in my English class. "Why is this poem so HARD?" Most people really make me think nuclear holocaust wouldn't be so bad...
Your winkin' pumpkin cracked me up!
Ernest
this is going to sound weird and untrue, but almost everytime you write about the movies you watch, i've been watching the same one...on the other side of the world.
first harold and maude and ghost world, now beetlejuice and freaks and geeks. nuts.
I have a Harold and Maude poster on my wall...And Freaks and Geeks? Got it all on DVD. Ghost world? Only seen it a bajillion freakin times. Beetlejuice, every halloween. Yeah. I'm that far under. I'm glad that there are people out there who share the same taste in ~FILM~ (haha)Excellent blog!
creepy but i like it
