HALLOWEEN

YES. I LOVE this holiday and I love candy and costumes and spooky. I was semi-creative like I used to be and took witchy pictures on Halloween but picnik is a slow butt so those are for later.
Costume:
IMG_0045
I'm supposed to be a creepy doll. A zombie? I DON'T KNOW, SOMETHING CREEPY. I just really wanted to do the eyelids thing.
The outfit is a green gingham dress and saddle shoes and a pink bow, which really isn't something I wouldn't not wear on a regular day. My classmates were sure to remind me of this.
"HEY, TAVI! HEY TAVI-*chuckle!*-HEY, OKAY. AHEMHEM. THAT. LOOKS. LIKE. WHAT. YOU. NORMALLY. WEAR!"
Also in school we watched Rear Window, and it was really, really depressing how about half the guys in our grade went "OH YEAH!!" when she is aggressively forced onto the couch by her date (go to 6:20 here.) I really don't like most people.
But..anyway.
IMG_0044
False eyelashes from Walgreens that say "Spyder Woman" on the package + Ella's makeup = oh I'm sorry little four-year-old dressed up as a fairy, DID I SCARE YOU? (I am awful.) Ella was a creepy mime, so she couldn't talk, and in order to freak people out I had to keep my eyes closed, so I couldn't see. Halloween is really all about making sacrifices and learning about what is most important.
IMG_9950
We watched Rosemary's Baby, Beetlejuice and Harold and Maude, then we talked about how obscure and intellectual our tastes in movies - I mean ~FILM - are. Then we watched reruns of Proj and did jigsaw puzzles.
Andddd THIS was cracking me up. Go look. DO IT. (Monica is very funny.)
Happy late Halloween!

That's a good idea placing the eyelashes above the eye instead of the lash line so that the creepy eyes really pop and look more real. The rest of the makeup is great too, you really ended up looking pretty spooky!

Your makeup looks awesome! Your school mates are losers, really. Jealousy at your age is the worst... But I'm sure you hear that all the time.

Anyway, I was Edward Scissorhands - check out my costume I think you would like!!

Coincidence! I really don't like most people either.

The majority of the time people can't tell what I'm dressed up as for Halloween. My fault I guess. Always end up putting it together last minute.

Well done on the eyelids. By far the most important part of you costume :P

It makes me sad that kids tend to go for cute instead of FRIGGIN SCARY AS HELL these days.

I -almost- was a doll again. Unfortunately I couldn't find the right dress to wear and just made a quick cosplay the night before (because I'm crazy like that.)

Glad you had a spook-tacular Halloween, Tavi-chan. ^~^!!!!!

hate it when people laugh at that type of things - the guys in my grade does that too.. i need to restrain myself to keep myself from screaming outlloud.
My halloween costume wasn't far from what I normally wear either.. I was a rat, but my clothes where really similar to my everyday wear..

I'm doing a project on creepy old porcelain dolls and you really look like a particular one I love... This makes it all the more creepy.

I go to a gazillion dressup parties a year yet I never end up actually dressing up and all my friends dive in my closet and wear my daily wear. Sigh.

haha. i saw and did the eyelid makeup before. but it was never as pretty as yours. i really like the combo of the pink cheeks and the pink ribbon. wirklich schön! and the rest of the costume is so reduced and brings it so much to the point at the same time. that's what i like best. thanks for that great foto! made my day kinda.

You are hysterical. And you're right. It is about making sacrifices. like when I went as 'oops, I crapped my pants' and realized I should have worn a sign that actually said, 'oops I crapped my pants' rather than let them believe I'd destroyed a pair of pants via refried black beans. can't win 'em all.

you looked awesome.

You're brilliant. So I had decided to do a creepy porcelain doll for Halloween too, and I was quite shocked and pleased to see that you had done the same! The eye makeup is great, and I definitely agree that the sacrifice of sight is worth the beauty and creepiness of the costume. Indeed.

I encourage you to please check out the pictures that my friend took of my costume on my page.

most people do fail. but how cool is it that you are allowed to watch rear window in class, even my last year of high school they wouldn't let us watch PG-13 without permission slips. just forget the creeps and asses. Btw, your costume was awesome!

I feel your pain re. the kids making dumb comments about your Halloween costume. I've spent the last few weeks with the dopey kids in my neighbourhood yelling "Hey! It's not Halloween for another three weeks/two weeks/four days/etc!" and I was pretty relieved when it finally came and went because that would be the end of that.

Then today some kid called out to me "Hey! Halloween was three days ago!"
Dang. I should have seen that coming.

Love the costume!! My god, I hate 7th grade boys. (I remember them all too well, almost as if it was yesterday . . . it practically was). One hopes they'll grow out of it but as far as I know, they don't. Which is why I'm super sexist in favor of women.

That is the coolest Halloween costume/ idea I have ever seen. "Harold and Maude" - LOL Guess that could be construed as a bit scary- great movie, though.

This is my absolute favorite blog. {I really hate the word "blog"}

We just watched Rear Window in my film class... it's painful to hear most people's thoughts and feelings on these good movies, er FILMS. A question often asked by my fellow students is, "why did he/she do that? He/she should have known that marriage was gonna be bad, so it's his/her fault..." Why? WHY? Because it's in the script you effing psych majors! Same thing in my English class. "Why is this poem so HARD?" Most people really make me think nuclear holocaust wouldn't be so bad...

I have a Harold and Maude poster on my wall...And Freaks and Geeks? Got it all on DVD. Ghost world? Only seen it a bajillion freakin times. Beetlejuice, every halloween. Yeah. I'm that far under. I'm glad that there are people out there who share the same taste in ~FILM~ (haha)Excellent blog!
