Despite waking up to a song that should probably make me want to wear the most girly stuff ever, this is what I wore today. The sweater was normal to begin with but throughout the day I pulled at the threads and tied them and now it looks like paper shredder residue (this is a good thing!)Not much inspiration lately. Time to go to Borders and read i-D and Lula and Vogue UK and then walk out without buying anything (Might have to get the Lula though-Alix's scans are great!)

I too am guilty of sweater shredding, though as you said, it ends up looking better for it :-)

french music is so good, I really ought to get on itunes and find more!

I love this outfit, especially the sweater. Lately I've been obsessed with "distressed" sweaters.

the sweater is great, it looks so comfy. there's a magazine shop in my city called... magnation... and they have those amazing futuristic-in-the-60s egg chairs and wireless internet so you can sit and read and read and sit for hours without getting harrassed or made to buy anything all the while using your laptop and reading blogs. so great. enjoy your illicit borders trip

God you look sensational, Tavi. Outfit, hair, face . . . killer style.

(I liked Alix's scans too - especially the Hannah Murray pictures.)

Oh wow! That sweater is so creative. What an excellent idea. With the leather vest you look kinda like a Vivienne Westwood punk circa the 70s.

hah! i go to Borders and read Pop and i-D too!

Great song you linked to Tavi. She made some great "yeh-yeh girl" style records in the 60's, though France Gall is my favorite yeh-yeh singer.

I follow for a moment and this is my first comment. I love the way you play with Fashion just following your desire. Keep playing that's the only way to enjoy design until the end ...

That sweater is so good. And I'm a huge i-D fan... I just wish it didn't cost so MUCH.

Lol I'm pretty sure that Lula won't be available onour humbled shores for a few more weeks - i too am waiting impatiently.

Hmm, I do like that sweater. Barnes and Nobles is my place to read and leave without buying anything, other than a coffee and fattening sweets from the attached starbucks. :)

i was trying on clothes at the salvation army yesterday (duh! family day, 50% off!) and this little woman summons me over with her crooked little finger and says, "don't listen to your friends, wear whatever you want! you're young, you have it all!" needless to say, i was so touched i nearly cried.

peeps my blog, though it's only just fresh! http://dani--d.blogspot.com/

I'm also in love with the sweater, and the leatha [ala stella] is awesome.

Adore this outfit, kind of delicate punk.

I love pulling on threads in woven shirts to make long stripe holes. I might up date some lame sweaters like you did here.

I don't know if I said this before but you are linked on my blog.

OMG! You're the cutest I've ever seen!
Love your style, when I was 12, I didn't look so pretty as you do now.

Unfortunately we don't have that many great, fashionable kids in my country (The Netherlands).

I was amazed to know that you're only 12, but already so stylish. I was into those weird big chunky neon necklace when i was 12....

Your sweater looks cute after you pull the threads, creative! and it looks comfy too.

this is the first outfit I've seen in a while that I really love

Although on a totally unrelated note, I must say, I really admire how you sometimes stand up to the other kids at school. It reminds me of myself when I was your age.

I like your leather jacket...such a great find. I also go to bookstores and read everything I want and never buying anything. The only magazine that I buy every month is Teenvogue but I'm not a subscriber because sometimes I don't like who's on the cover.

Sweater looks fabulous!

They're closing down the huge Borders on Michigan, though! It was in the paper today. I'm hoping it gets rescued somehow, it's a block away from where I work and so convenient.

oooh, this is one of my favorite outfits I've seen. those floral docs are just the greatest, and 'distressed' sweaters look like the most fun thing ever to wear. ramble ramble.
